Week of Marathons and Hurdles

This last week was full of hurdles and triathlons and marathons and uh...lots of Crazy good hard work right? :)

After a prayer last week we went to see an investigator and he wasn't home and neither was our backup plan, so we were talking to people outside an apartment complex. We walked up to this high school boy and started to share about the gospel and for some awkward reason he didn't want to look us in the eye but this kid was asking so many questions and so I had the thought to share the because of him video from our iPads and while we watched him watch the video (sometimes feels kind of creepy to watch people's expression as they watch it) we were feeling the spirit so strong. Then this kid who is only 17 tells us that he was raised without any beliefs at all about Jesus Christ and only learned about God from TV shows and movies. He finally started to look us in the eyes and we shared his purpose on earth. He thought this was so interesting that we could answer all of his questions so he said he would like to meet back up soon. So we set a time to come back. This kids name is Adam by the way. :)

"Today, Elders Wallace and Loveall taught us HOW to be bold when teaching the Law of Chastity.  The Assistants, Elders Seymore and Langford taught us HOW to be BOLD, but with love.  We are "IFHOM"  Inconvenient Fearless Hunters of Men.  We discussed HOW to increase our number of Baptisms by setting goals and followed up on "Using the Book of Mormon" more effectively.  It was an amazing Day with AMAZING missionaries."

Just look how happy these Missionaries are....."When we assist HIM in HIS mission of saving souls we too will be rescued in the process."

The Mission Tour with Elder Zwick and his wife has been postponed.......This meant we had to reschedule MLC.

On Tuesday we had MLC (Missionary Leadership Counsel) and so we got to go back to the mission home and the office assistants gave a training, and we also did companionship practice with President Brough.

The companions' training that was given was on how to teach the Law of Chastity. Which for us missionaries is slightly awkward and most of us just try to avoid the obvious and point blank questions and basically invite them to live it. Well they hard core cracked down and said not to be like that anymore. They said for us to show our love and make sure that they know exactly what not to do and how to be sexually clean. It was the coolest training because by their example with this lesson we truly felt the spirit! Then the assistants gave a training on being bold and simple and direct in our contacting and teaching and it was SO COOL! I have been so confident from the trainings on my mission I think I will be coming home in about ten months as a new person! Crazy!

On Wednesday and Thursday we went on a blitz with the sisters down in Glasgow Kentucky. I went with Sister Holt and Sister Patterson went with my MTC comp, Sister Resendez! It's so weird to see my companion after the last 8 months and see how we both have changed!
It was a great experience because I really enjoyed receiving that revelation to help me become a better servant and leader in this mission. Sister Holt is one of the happiest people I know and she really inspired me to be just as loving and goal oriented as she is. We got to contact a man who has the "legacy" church video and was saying how he knows all about this church. He asked about what happens when we die. Sister Holt was so excited because the scripture verse her and I talked about that morning in our studies she had the opportunity to share with him. I was so proud of her that she remained worthy and obedient enough that God blessed with a miracle like that! So cool! We ended up getting back right on time to meet with Adam and taught him the Plan of Salvation! It went so well that he accepted a baptismal date! Woohoo!

Friday was district meeting and Thursday night our lovely zone leaders call us and ask if we would be willing to give the training on the law of chastity at zone meeting the next day... They snickered and said we would do great at it.  So we did and it was super funny because the way the training works is your ask the direct questions such as "do you watch pornography?" And other personal questions. So I ended up asking them to one of our zone leaders as the investigator and the crowd like flinched at the question! It was so funny and one elder afterwards was like "when you said that I was like wait, you can't ask that! And then I thought about it and it's supposed to be like that because God hates sexual sin and how are we supposed to help them if we are wishy washy?!" And we all laughed then made them go try it and they were so hesitant and awkward at first and then they really caught on to like teaching it! It was so awesome!

Sister P. Got a Package!  (hint, hint.)
P-Day iPad Selfie

Okay, one more.
*Note,  all pics were several days apart, Kizzer will look back at these and laugh
at how she wore the same outfit on picture days.

We have been teaching Timothy and Tracy this last week and just preparing them for baptism and it has been to cool to watch them learn and grow, especially Timothy! He is taking notes everywhere he goes at church and wants to serve a mission after going to BYU! It has been amazing to see how he defends what he believes and whenever the Gospel Principles teacher asks a simple question, he knows the answer to each one and blurts it out! Sister p and I have our mouths drop to the ground every time we see him! So miraculous!

Yesterday was interesting, we got to go see Sister Hall and her kiddos! They are the coolest family ever! Plus Sister Hall is the aunt of three boys I lifeguarded with, and a girl that went with my group junior year to prom! Small world! :D
And so they fed us and we shared a great message with them! They loved it!

This last week was wonderful and I get to do it all again this week!
Anyway, I love you all and hope you are sharing your testimony with those around you!

Stay righteous! Like Nephi!

Love always,
Sister Jones!
**Questions for our Kizzer**

How are you adjusting to your new responsibilities as a STL?

But we exchanged with a companionship this last week and it happened to be with Sister Holt and Sister Resendez, Yep! my MTC comp. I wasn't with her for the exchange but I was able to hear about her from Sister P. And I have to say that I am so grateful for the refining that Heavenly Father has given me over my mission.

It means that Heavenly Father needed me to be in this position at this very moment in my mission and that he wanted me a specific way and I feel like this calling shows that I progressed a lot in a short time, more so than the people that came out with me but then again this calling tells me that I must learn from them. I have learned already so much from being with different companions and I have grown a lot! I just can't comprehend the love that Heavenly Father has for these sisters and their miraculous diligence and determination to serve God. I admire it so much!

(Referring to Grandma Pam’s upcoming surgery and some extended family concerns)

I will pray for Grandma, Emma, and Keirra. I feel bad that I can't be there to give my support but heavenly support is better than earthly right? Anyway thank you so much mom for all you have done to be an 'elect lady’ yourself'. You have made all the difference in my life and especially my mission-- I am COOKING. ;) Yep! You Heard Right.  I have been cooking meals that I have watched you cook and Sister P. loves to eat SO I have been a cooking machine and have been cooking Stroganoff and I plan to make Stir Fry and Shephard’s Pie and other wonderful things! I love you mom and will write you all a long gushy letter this week!
